Doug,

To use GROUP BY and HAVING, you'd need something like this:

With tbl as (select escan
From mytable
Group by escan
Having count(*) > 1
)
Select escan, eitnbr
from mytable
where escan in (select escan from tbl)
order by escan, eitnbr

note: if it is ok for multiple records to contain the same barcode+item, then change count(*) to
count(distinct eitnbr).

Subject: SQL Help needed - looking for duplicates

I have a file which has two fields, ESCAN (bar code numbers) and EITNBR
(Item numbers).....I need to select the unique records that have
duplicate
barcodes where the item number is DIFFERENT. An item can have multiple
bar code numbers, but a bar code cannot have multiple item numbers.

I was trying to use the group by HAVING but so far I have failed in any
attempt to get this to work.

I can get it if it was the ESCAN field only.....

Suggestions?
