From what I can remember, the problem with STRCPYSCN is that for each
screen capture, it requires the user to respond to a question each and
every time.

For 5250 emulation, the Client Access (please substitute the right
nom-du-jour) APIs let you build this.
I once built some programs (PC and System i in cooperation) that
captured screen images from an emulation session, but with a whole lot
more information besides.  I could probably ressurect that, if you are
interested.  Please feel free to tell us more.
