Well... not directly. It would probably show you an icon (node/step)
indicating DISTINCT processing took place there, but you would have to
deduce that you don't really need it. So, onus is really on you to 'see'
that step is not required, Visual Explain would not make an explicit advice
to remove it.
Visual Explain will explicitly advise building of indexes and column
statistics (sometimes).
Bottom line is that regardless of the DBMS used, there is always place for
DBA skills in the realm of SQL performance tuning.
