   Doug:
SQL (on OS/400, i5/OS, etc.) can _handle_ multi-member physical
files. The SQL ALIAS statement is an example of how _handling_ can
   be done.
   However...
SQL cannot be used to _create_ multi-member SQL TABLEs with DDL, and
a SQL TABLE is restricted from having more than a single member.
"Handling" members is different from "creating" members. PFs and
TABLEs are _not_ exactly equivalent except in the sense that a TABLE
is _implemented_ as a *FILE with the PF attribute. In addition to
the PF attribute, there are other attributes that aren't always as
   obvious.
It is your original statement about using DDL that brings up this
difference. If you use DDS, multi-members is easy. If you use DDL,
   it's not easy.
...unless someone here can provide a method.
