Protocols are very similar, if you know the AS400 it will be very easy to understand the Unix, likewise knowing Unix will make it very easy to set up the AS400.

Using the *ADMIN in the AS400's web server you can set up a cerificate and use SSL (Secure Socket Layer), if you buy the certificate, it will be public, otherwise you can set up your AS400 as the Certifying Agent and tell the Unix computer to trust your AS400.

Good morning,

We are building a new website and need to securely send/receive data to/from Unix web server. I do not know anything about Unix/Linux boxes and the guy whom I am working with does not know anything about AS400/iSeries. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are running on: 9406-820 V5R2

Thank you in advance. Gary
