Y'all

There is a sea change at V6R1 - it won't talk to V5R1 very well, at least.

Rob,

I think iSeries Access IS backward compatible, although I don't know to
what extent. I run version V5R4M0 but I connect to V5R3 and V5R2 boxes
all the time so I don't think there is an issue.

Pete

Many thanks to you both. I will install it.

Does anyone know the answer to my question about versions of iSeries Access?

Is 5722DG1 chargeable?

I don't think so. Anyway it's on your standard media so just go and
install and see what's happens.
Worst case you will have a 70 day trial....

Good luck!
