We've have more than one. Our city clerk has been using Laserfiche for some
time. We tried to integrate that with a enterprise app that we run on the
i. It was ugly and it didn't play well with our authentication (non
Kerebros). Support was less that desired from both the BP and the vendor.
We adopted Optiview from Advanced Processing and Imaging (www.apimg.com) to
integrate with our app. We used the windoz flavor but they also have a
flavor than runs on OS400. This product works on the client end to
associate the record from your app to the images in the repository. You
have to define what the record keys are from the various screens in your
app but once that's done it's pretty easy to administer. It has fairly
granular definition capabilities for retention and security policies if you
need that but you also don't have to be granular. Software updates are
managed centrally so you don't have to touch the clients.

We are currently using RVI and it is less than desirable in a lot of
ways.
I would like to be able to foward some suggestions on other packages to
management, so if you would not mind telling me which package you are
using and what you like or dislike about it, I would be most
appreciative.
