Hi All,

Maybe someone has seen this before...

We upgraded from 4 1GB sticks of ram to 8 2GB sticks. The system came up
fine, but WRKSHRPOOL only shows 3,743 MB instead of something closer to
16GB.

In SST I can see that there are 4 sticks marked as 'Failed'. Of the 4 that
are working, 2 show as 2GB and 2 show as 1GB. Do I need to tell the system
exactly what size is installed in each memory slot somehow?

Clearly I have missed an important step, and I have had no luck searching
the archives.

Any ideas will be appreciated,
Thanks,
Dave
Well on a NON-HMC managed system you shouldn't need to tell it anything. I would go in and reseat those chips sets. I would double check the p/n on all them and double check any feature codes.

But now that you have FAILED memory you will most likely need to access AMSI via one of the HMC ports to re-enable them since the system can see both p/n and serial numbers...
