My brand spanking new JS12 needed the latest cume for IBM i 6.1 so I
have downloaded that, stuffed it into an image catalog and as I read
through the install document noticed that it had to be applied in a B
side IPL. I ran the pwrdwnsys command and told it to restart on the B
side and it failed to come up. I got a B600 0901 SRC. So I manually
changed the IPL back to A and it came right up.
The text on the SRC seems to indicate that the LIC needs to be
re-installed. That seems a little extreme doesn't it? The only HIPER or
reference I see to this an APAR in 2005 that is included in the V5R3M0
cumulative PTF cover letter from October 21st, 2008.
Anyone see this before? If not, I'll give IBM a call (and see if they
fixed my SWMA entitlement.....).
Pete
