hi Mike,
My problem is when I do this, I get the quotes in the module parameter
like this and the command chokes.
CRTPGM expects a separate variable for each module. You can't simply
decide to put them all in one variable! The command will think you're
specifying only one module with a very long (and invalid) name.
CL is a compiled language. It generates machine instructions that say
"read data from variable1 and pass it to parameter3 of program XXX",
then "read variable2 and pass it to parameter4 of program XXX", etc. It
does NOT say "read variable1 and search it for spaces and divide the
contents up and pass them as separate parameters".
If you want to build the whole command in a string and then have the
computer interpret that string on-the-fly (which, if you think about it,
is what you're trying to do when you put all modules in a single string)
then put the WHOLE command (not just the modules parameter) into a
string and run it via QCMDEXC.
