I'm a new "lurker" here because my company is considering moving from a
System z to i. I've followed this discussion because it is so familiar.
We have the same discussion on IBM-MAIN (devoted to the z) and the same
type of points. How many consider "z" to be obsolete and difficult to
adapt to "new technologies". It's deja vue all over again! <grin>. Of
course, now MS Windows (what was "new and improved") is getting the "old
legacy" stamp and Linux is the savior du jour. I hope that both the z
and i continue to get better. They have some very strong points.
