Last night, for our regular Meeting of Members, here in Toronto, we had
the pleasure to receive few people from Rochester for the conclusion of
the Power of i Tour, the Canadian version.
Before dinner, Kurt Rump, Randy Ruhlo and Ean Early reviewed the latest
announcements to the IBM i.
But, the main feature of the evening was none other than Dr Frank Soltis
giving his last presentation in front of an i Users Group before his
retirement on December 31st, 2008. Actually his very last presentation as
an IBM employee was this morning in front of a Power p group also in
Toronto.
Last night, at the end of his presentation, the audience of 145 strong
gave Dr Frank Soltis a standing ovation.
If you are interested to look at the pictures I took during that meeting,

In those pictures you will see how attentive the crowd was, especially our
friend Neil Palmer, sitting in the very first row. Sitting right behind
Neil, another regular contributor to midrange-l, Terrence Enger!
A special group of people in the attendance were eight students from a
local college, Seneca College. Two teachers accompanied them. One of them,
Russell Pangborn is a director on the TUG board.
The special M-C for the evening was Kathy Gregson.
