A few pundits on midrange-L who disagree is not marketplace rejection.

Very much agreed. OTOH, others tend to think of this as the tech list and to think of Midrange-Nontech as the marketing/naming/etc. list.

That's not to say that I don't think this is an extremely important discussion.

But, seriously, if we can't even follow the most fundamental of simple rules, how are we ever to be expected to master the techniques and technologies needed to make our platform what it should be in the market place?
