I myself have never had this particular problem. Just some thoughts:

Since the drive is fine, you can access the CD's from WRKLNK, look to
the actual image catalog.

Do you have write permissions to the folder that the image catalog uses?
Did someone delete the folder on you? If the image catalog is empty,
delete it and start from scratch, just in case it is corrupted.

I've tried many CDs. My main project-at-hand is from a 3rd party
software house, but in trying to solve the problem I've tried CDs from
IBM and from other vendors as well -- all with the same error.

They are all CDs, not DVDs. I can browse them with WRKLNK '/QOPT/*'
with no problem. I can LODRUN on them, no problem. I just can't create
images w/ADDIMGCLGE, despite assurance from the vendor that it works for
them :)

Anyone have that problem?
