Do you have Query Management queries and forms on your mainframe? They can be imported to the i - there's some kind of manual on that. Not sure what differences or problems there could be.

The ILE COBOL compiler would be best for migrating from mainframe COBOL.

The ILE COBOL compiler has had several updates over the years that improve the compatibility with mainframe COBOL, but the legacy COBOL compiler hasn't been enhanced for several releases.
