You've been listening to too many theocrats, who have an annoying tendency to interpret the phrase "freedom of worship" as including their absolute freedom to proselytize, but excluding anybody else's freedom not to be proselytized.

Simply put, such phrases as "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" have been around since before most of us were born, and since a time when "political correctness" had absolutely nothing to do with putting on a facade of sensitivity.

My own inclination is to greet people in terms of *their* holiday, if any.
