VB was some folks idea of modernization 12 years ago. Now it appears that
you're left with data and applications distributed across two platforms -
out of sync - hard to sync - leading to misunderstandings. And Microsoft
will only support old VB code for so long. At some point in the near
future, the application will need to be rewritten. It's a familiar tale.

When you reach that point, my suggestion would be to bring the data and the
application back running under IBM i. Spool shipping labels and bar codes
from an IBM i Web application.
