That command is fantastic - and opt 54 of PDM is an easy way to invoke. Opt 55 is a merge - that lets you select in split-SEU the changes you want to bring over - I find it incredibly useful when 2 of us are working on the same source.

Honestly, I find all other merge tools to be inadequate - it's worth a look, IMO. And thanks to Mark Waterbury, who had a lot of influence on the design.

Take a look at the parms on CMPPFM - lots of options, ignoring comments, tailored to the language, whether RPG or COBOL or whatever, etc.
