Somebody correct me if I'm wrong about MySQL storage engine for IBM i DB, but my current understanding is that MySQL tables don't contain data - they just provide meta data for the storage engine.

So would updating an IBM i table via RPG actually "put" data into the corresponding MySQL table?

FTP the MySQL table?  If so, would it contain data?  Or would the file be empty?

I'm aware that Scott Klement wrote an article about using JDBC to write to MySQL tables from RPG programs, but I doubt that's what you had in mind.

How do you copy data from an IBM i table to a MySQL table?
