You still seem to be wrestling with this so let me spell it out as simply as I can Steve.

The above remark was made by a person who:

a) Did not work at IBM

b) Was not party to _any_ discussions on the future of ILE and RPG and

c) Has a product to sell.


On the other hand Hans and I were:

A) Both working for IBM during the period in question.

B) Were both heavily involved in many many architectural discussions on RPG and ILE.

C) Hans was a lead architect/developer on the RPG IV compiler

D) In addition to my work in Toronto I spent 8 months on assignment on Rochester working with the ILE architecture team.

Don't you think that one of us would have heard at least a hint of this "single management decision"?

We didn't - there wasn't one - end of story.
