Set up a userid/password on iSeries/Windows that's the same. Use that
userid/password combination. You can use APIs to change the effective
userid.

Too easy. There is an entry in /QNTC for the server, but my
userid/password is
not the same as Windows username/password. Oh well, just keep doing the
copy
from my pc.

John,

The /QNTC area of the IFS will let you send data via Windows Networking,
provided the userid/password running the program on the i is a valid
userid/password on Windows.

I'm sure this has been dealt with before. Just don't know how to
search for it.

At random intervals, I receive a data request. Data is on the IBM
system (I
really< wish I could remember the name of the day.). Data needs to
be copied
to a Windows server. I have that share mapped on my pc now. So, I can
copy
the files from a share on teh IBM system to a share on the Windows
system.
But, it would be nice to copy the files directly from the IBM system.
The
share is not a visible share, very handy. Security by obscurity,
apparently.

Since I know the network IP address and all that - since I created
the link on
my pc, is it possible to do that on the IBM system? AS/400, System i?
