Zvi,
It has been ages (V3 something). The thing I do remember is that we used DST to change the password for QSecofr.
However, your problem seemed to be related to the QSTRTUP program not being available at IPL. Is that correct? If yes, changing QSecofr's password isn't going to gain you anything. I do not see anything in the V5R4 Info Center about DST that would allow you to change system values so, unless I'm just missing it.
If the error message allows for an 'I' response, you might try that.
If not, there is (in V5R4, don't know how far back it goes) an option to change system values during an IPL. Never done this, but if it is possible do enter this mode when bringing a dead machine up, it would have to be during a 'M'anual mode IPL. Check out the Info Center for V4R5.

Jery hi,
I entered into DST menu, but I did not find an option
to change user profile. I shall check it again...
Thanks,
Zvi

You will not be able to sign on if the user profile has in its library list a
library that does not exist. QGPL, on most systems I've seen, is in 90+% of
all user profiles. You might try using another user profile that you suspect
does not include QGPL in its library list. Usually the user portion.
Alternatively, you might put the system into DST- mode. Been a long time since
I even booted up my V3 whatever 150, but I think it requires using the security
key lock. Anyway, from there you can change user profiles or job descriptions,
I think. Anyway, I had a friend of mine do the same thing, different library;
even QSECOFR couldn't get in. DST was the method we used (>6 years ago)
to fix the problem. If you don't know the security codes for DST, though,
you may be up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle. That said,
however, most people don't change the security settings for DST/SST;
22222222 / 22222222 allowed us ('nother job, 'nother time) to break into
a used box we had bought when even the reseller didn't know the security
codes and couldn't get them.
Even if the startup procedure is in QGPL, which is usually the case I'll
admit, this would not prevent a sign-on. You would just get an error that the
program could not be found. Whacking QGPL is not considered a good idea. Hope
you have a recent backup; we back ours up nightly - not that I ever plan to
whack it, you understand.

From the logon screen try using the:
Program/procedure
Menu . . . . . .
Current library .
for program use QCMD
It looks like you deleted you initial program.

After deleting some files I IPLed the S150 R4V5 machine.
Now I have no TCP/IP, and I can not login from console.
The message when I try to login is:
"CPC1116 Program xxxx in library QGPL not found."
My question is:
1. Can I IPL manually to enter CL command ?
(then I can start TCP/IP or create the missing program)
2. Can I IPL manually to restore the QGPL/xxxx program from
tape to solve this problem?
3. Is there another way to solve this problem?
