Really? They're using an asynch ASCII front-end processor controlling "glass teletypes"?

Because even a VT-100 is still a "smart terminal," and anything using 3270 or 5250 data stream CERATAINLY is.

Mr. Leverich, if you can't say something constructive, why say anything? If the client says they have a legitimate reason to keep a group of users on terminals and ONLY on terminals, who are we to say they're full of scat?

Back to the matter at hand, my own choice would be to write something simple that would front-end for either the email-sending module I already have, or for Brad Stone's MAILTOOL.
