So write a CL *MODULE that runs the commands, and an RPG *MODULE that 
does the file access, and put them together to make an ILE *PGM.

Isn't that the point of ILE?  use the best tool for each part of the 
job?  (okay, I probably should disappear before the answers start coming 
in.)
