  I saw a presentation by one of the providers, I do not recall 
which, and it seemed to me like a great way to go; from a business, 
not a personal perspective, as I would want to just fix the existing 
stuff instead of affix something to correct applications.  Of course 
the details did not span fully to the B&R implications which would 
inherently be complicated by additional files, even if at the same 
time it was massively simplifying getting encryption going for 
fields of any chosen file.  I can not recall, but of the 
implementation, I believe files would require a primary key. 
Depending on what the history of database design, such a requirement 
may be problematic enough for some files & programs, requiring so 
much change, that it might be better just to change such programs & 
their files directly instead.
