Do a dspobjd of the device descriptions to an outfile and run your query
over that file.

DSPOBJD OBJ(*ALL/*ALL) OBJTYPE(*DEVD) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(QGPL/DEVICES)

descriptions? The devd stuff, not the objects.
