You'd need to compare access plans for two executions. You can do that
using Visual Explain. For STRSQL session, collect dbmon data and then bring
it up in VE. Do the same for iNav (much easier to bring up VE).
Perhaps it's CQE vs SQE? Or *ALLIO vs *FIRSTIO? Or ALWCPYDTA setting
differs?
As you know query optimizer considers a great number of environmental
factors when building an access plan.

I'm running a select with group by, order by clauses. If I execute it on a
greenscreen, it takes a few seconds and I see the message that an index is
being created during the request. Each time. But with iNav, the subsequent
executions are almost instantaneous. What's occurring?
