This would return sequence values with "gaps after":

SELECT seqval FROM mydata a 
where not exists
      (select * from mydata b where a.seqval+1 = b.seqval) 
ORDER BY seqval

Given a key sequence in a file, really just a series of numbers, does 
anybody know of an algorithm, other than brute force, for finding gaps 
in the sequence?
