I once had a construction union get ready to walk out because they "heard" that their checks were going to be 30-60 minutes late (we had had to replace a bad disk on a /34 the night before). Just "heard" a rumor mind you. They got their checks on time with a good two minutes to spare. None of them said, "Thanks for staying here all night for us" though they also knew we did.
