It's not so much ignored as there usually is next to no
performance delta between the virtual disks and so there is
nothing to do. You can run TRCASPBAL and STRASPBAL *USAGE to
attempt to move things around, but chances are not much will
happen.

Virtual disks do have a unique 4-character identifier so the
system knows the drives are virtual.
