FWIW, you might check the power down/up schedule. Type "Go Power" onthe
command line.
The 05:34:31 tells us it really was issued with a restart... WerePTFs
scheduled to be applied? Try Go LICPGM, OPT# 50 and put a start timein
just before the powerdown cmd say 05:30 and see if it shows anything.
I've had 520's and 525's that didn't come backup when Server Firmwarego
applied? If you can get access to SST go look at the VLOGs by
1. Start a service tool
5. Licensed Internal Code log
1. Select entries from the Licensed Internal Code (LIC) log
Provide BOTH VALID START and END DATE and TIMEs
Press enter and see what pops up
I re-read your original post and have to ask this: Does your customer
have a UPS? That alone would solve the "utility power goes off
for under a minute a couple of times a week." comment you made. Did I
miss something.
Does this machine have an UPS attached?
What i've seen on Power5 and newer machines quite often is the fact
that it may not boot, without any error message, if the UPS is
reporting a low battery condition. This remedies itself after the
battery is charged, but it can take quite a while until that's the
case.
So the only thing you can do is remove the UPS communication cable,
power up the machine, wait till the UPS is charged, turn of the
machine, unplug the power, reconnect the ups communication cable, and
then power up the machine again.
(UPS connection requires the UPS connection to be made before the FSP
is powered on).
