Rob,

I was thinking the same way, but I'm unsure of what information needs to
be added.

I looked at Change Network Setting, selected Name Servers tab.

This is what is currently showing...

X Use DHCP DNS Settings
DNS enabled

If I check off DNS enable it asks for

DNS Server Search Order and

Domain Suffix Search Order

So what do I add in these two fields?????

Rogers

Maybe. Try pinging by ip address also. You may have to tell the HMC
who serves your DNS.

Rob,

Tried the ping and it did not work. So I guess I need to setup a route
on the HMC for the dalarray.zzzzz.com, right?

Did you try
HMC Management
Test Network Connectivity
to first ping dalarray.zzzzz.com

I'm setting up the Service Alert on the HMC and running the TEST
function.
Below are the steps to verify the connection.

Where can I find information on the FAILED TO VERIFY LINK CONNECTION
message.
I'm thinking it is related to IP address not being defined to our
firewall that's causing the problem. Can you confirm this?

If a firewall is in place between the HMC and the Internet, it must
allow outgoing TCP/IP connections on port 443 from the Hardware
Management Console to your service provider. The IP addresses you must
allow depends on the protocol you chose on the Protocol to Internet tab.

If IPv4 (or IPv6 and IPv4) is selected, you must allow access to:
129.42.160.48 and 207.25.252.200 (allow Hardware Management Console
access to System Authentication Server (SAS))
129.42.160.49 and 207.25.252.204 (allow Hardware Management Console
access to IBM Service for North or South America)
129.42.160.50 and 207.25.252.205 (allow Hardware Management Console
access to IBM Service for all other regions) Note: You only need to
specify the IP addresses necessary to setup access to SAS and those
appropriate for your region.
