Well glory be. Can't get much simpler than that.
Thanks.

You can easily create static HTML pages using most word processors. Check out the Save AS feature.

Next is to locate where the default home page is saved on your IFS
Ours is at
/www/apachedft/htdocs/index.html

Just replace this with the static page you created and restart your web server instance.

By the way, replace the apachedft with the name of your web server instance running. (ours is actually xcwebsrv)

Subject: Our system i home page

If I put our system IP address in a browser, I get our system home page which is a default page written by IBM. This might be a pipe dream, but is there something I could I do with this page to make it useful, allowing for the fact that I don't know HTML, but I'm willing to learn it? This might some naïve but the our QHTTPSVR is running is only because one of apps needs it (marginally).

For example, what would be involved in listing help desk procedures, support availability or scheduled downtime on our home page?

If you've been down this road before, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks,
