RE: Explaining single level store to non i people

To Nathan Andelin and Hans Boldt,	
I remember a comment attributed to Frank Soltis is that the Single Level
Store and other features insulate the hardware from everything else,
thus enabling IBM to continue enhancing and changing hardware as needed,
and the operating system and software applications not need rewriting or
recompiling. The hardware does not define the System I / IBM I platform.
