Do you do anything like record a summation of the lines in the order
header? One ERP package stores:
- Number of lines
- Order total, amt
- Order total, cost
etc

Without commitment control they could get out of sync.

Yes Third Normal Form is something to strive for, but often a compromise
is struck for query speed.

I've also noticed that many people now use crappy save while active
(*SYSDFN) to avoid any locks, waits on checkpoints, etc. These too can
get out of sync. Yes journalling helps but how many people have that
written into their recovery plan? Let's see, restore these libraries,
apply these journals to get the out of sync data, ...
