OPNQRYF is no SQL, that's why it cannot use the new features and that's why
you should think about replacing OPNQRYF with embedded SQL.

I have been following this thread with some interest.

Speaking of legacy applications, what about those that make heavy use of 
the OPNQRYF command?

Does OPNQRYF use or take advantage of any of the new features of the new 
improved SQE or does it always go to the original CQE?
