The given data, for example as RTVCFGSRC output that was directed to a source member, can be submitted almost directly [i.e. no compile anyway] as a batch stream job; like JCL. Insert the //BCHJOB as the first row, and [I believe optionally due to EOF] insert //ENDBCHJOB as the last row. On the BCHJOB there is an ENDSEV which can allow failing commands to be ignored. Issue SBMDBJOB against the source file member, as named on the FILE() and MBR() parameters of that command.

I have over 100 printers to define to a given LPAR and I would
like to do this using an in stream member with multiply CRTDEVPRT
commands as shown below.

Questions....

1. Can this be done and how would this be executed (PGM, Utility,
etc)

2. What type of file would be used to create this?

I'm new to this platform and my background is on the Z-Series,
so please forgive me if my terminology to not correct.

I would like to keep this very simple, if possible.

CRTDEVPRT DEVD(LAN01) <<SNIP>>
CRTDEVPRT DEVD(LAN02)
