working with IBM support. Was told that virtual disk for a BC-S IBM i
partition is supported but not recommended. Use physical disks instead.
More important to the DST console error is I am booting from I_BASE cd
version 610-C. The current version is 610-F and there have been more than a
few virtualization fixes since 610-C.

Google that and the first hits are IBM sites.

what is OPCIP03?

on the BC-S I create an IBM i partition using a 100 GB virtual disk
allocated from an IVM storage pool. When I activate this partition, with
the
I_BASE CD in the media tray, I get a reference code A6005008 "DST console
failed to respond. Perform OPCIP03."

I start the ops console before I activate the partition. The ops console
status is "connecting console". What is OPCIP03?

thanks,
