It has been proven time and time again that SSD is significantly faster.
Joel Spolsky from Fog Creek mentioned that all of his developers are on SSD
now and compile times have been reduced drastically because of it.

The only problem is that the cost is still much higher. I have been hearing
that people are using SSD for OS and applications and data is stored on a
HDD.

Lukas is right though, both should have been unjournalled for apples to
apples comparison.
