There is no versioning for DB2 on our platform - the version number is not
needed and is replaced by renaming!!! Saves having to worry about all those
dots.

"DB2 for i (formerly known as DB2 for i5/OS)"

Got a cold call from "Cory" who works for IBM software sales about a new
database that they are introducing.

He asked me what database management tools we used. I told him that we ran
an iSeries and have no need to use database management tools - the system
cleans up after itself and allocates space as needed, yada-yada-yada.

He asked if I had ever heard of DB2. I said 'yes, we use DB2/400'. He
asked what version of DB2 that was, because version 9.7 is available now.

Woo hoo!
