A RAID 5 consisting of 3 physical disks. How many do you have
installed? The 4th is probably configured as a hot spare. That's a non
optimal configuration as three drive RAID5's are notoriously slow on
the IBM i.

Check SST, Disk Config, to see how the drives are configured.
