IVM is very easy to use to config IBM i partitions on the blade. I
assume your 2 drives are SAS drives in the DSM. The blade comes with
internal drives. You put VIOS on the internal drive. In IVM you have
physical volumes and virtual disks. You can carve virtual disks from
one or more of the physical volumes and then assign those virtual
disks to an IBM i partition. Or you can assign physical drives to the
IBM i partition. One IBM support tech told me not to run IBM i on a
virtual disk. Another would not recommend against doing it.
