You need a third LPAR for that, in order to test what you intend to
do. Doing the merge directly on the production environment seems like
a sure way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Get two Save 21, one from both LPAR. Restore the LPAR with the most
applications installed directly. Consult the applications vendors from
the other LPAR on instructions on how to migrate their applications to
an existing system.
