I'm joining 3 tables, clients, addresses and clientadresses to get the
clients living in a town.

What determines the order of the select?
They seem to be mostly in the order of the fields in the select.

The ORDER BY clause (which is missing from your text) determines the order.

If I pagedown then pageup again I get :
Opération de lecture impossible pour le membre CLIENTS. (C I)
Is this a bug? I can't reply to the message!

Guessing: "Operation cannot be done for member CLIENTS."
