In short:

You will need V6R1 of System i Access. So if you do not have SWMA, you
may need to pay for this.

V6R1 of System i Access is only supported against 6.1, 5.4 and 5.3. So
you will need to replace both of your machines, since neither of them
can run V5R4 (and V5R3 can no longer be purchased).

You will also need to wait until December 1st, at which time IBM will
publish an update that will make System i Access V6R1 compatible with
Windows 7.

If you order a new Power 520 on Monday, this won't be an issue for you
since it will take at least 4 weeks for the machine to ship to you ;)
