I think Jon wants a tool to build the INSERT statement
*along*with*the*data*. Kind of like an Oracle 'extract' would do ...

Ah, I see. Right. So in effect, it would be all of the data in the
file, but also with all of the SQL INSERT mumbo-jumbo repeated for
every
record.

Nowadays isn't that sort of task handled via XML?

Often. But one would need to understand his purpose. And I don't. :)
