Scott,

You're on the right track, but I'd still prefer the SE, San Anton or
Vegas...due to logistics and costing factors...It's easier to get flights
going WEST at the end of the day than going east...

If you have the conference in downtown Chicago (in "the loop") it's
going to be outrageously expensive. The one they had in Spring 2005 is
an example, on Wacker Drive in the loop... very expensive.

There are a ton of hotels and facilities out by O'Hare that will cost
half as much. Maybe less than half. And since they're closer to the
airport, they are more convenient for travellers.

I like Chicago because it's (roughly) in the center of the USA. It's
easy to get to from anywhere. The travel times aren't so steep.

Reno was awful with the amount of time it took to get to/from...
Anaheim -- or other Los Angeles / Orange County type locations -- are a
little tough to travel from the East Coast. Especially coming home
where you lose 3 hours. It takes up the whole day. Though I'd prefer
the LA area to Reno, because at least you can get direct flights!

Denver is another good choice as far as flights go. (Not sure about
their hotels or conference facilities, though.) Minneapolis, too.

With all due respect to you and Chicago, NO WAY to Chicago, Boston or
NYC...the cities are just TOOO expensive to warrant going there.
