Is there any way to dynamicaly turn keyboard buffering off and on from an application?
I have an application that is prmiaraly designed to run on a scanner (display width 20 col), but can sometimes be invoked at a normal 5250 emulator session.
This application normaly accepts a 20 char field on the first line, as well as a 10 char field on the
next line and a 7 digit field on the third line.
The field on the first line has a CHECK(ER) keyword associated with it.
The barcode being scanned is 40 characters.
When I scan the barcode at a normal workstation session, it fills the first and second field, and then when my next format is displayed, puts the remainder on the only input field for that format.

There does not appear to be any way to prevent this from happening except to disable keyboard buffering before scanning the barcode.
It appears that this is the default behavior for scanners as when I use this on a scanner, there is no problem.

This is the first of many applications that must be enhanced to enable the scanning of the 40 char barcode, so a solution that involves screen changes or major program changes is not desired.

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
