Hi Dale,
What do you have specified for system value QINACTMSGQ? Once the inactivity interval expires, you can either end the job (*ENDJOB), disconnect the job (*DSCJOB) or have the system send messages to the message queue of your choice. If you have the message sent to a message queue but don't act on those messages, nothing happens.
