Not sure which is more evil - RQSDTA does not strip trailing blanks. CMD gives you promptability but is weird when using CALLs - as Tom suggests, maybe CMD parameter should not process CALLs.

For the record, RQSDTA can be used to execute home-grown commands, too.
Back in the S/38 days, we didn't have a CMD() parameter on SBMJOB.

Mind you, this represents absolutely no preference toward the RQSDTA
parameter. It was OK when it was a necessary evil, but evil it is and evil
it shall remain.
